# Sustainability

Each time $Elevate is transacted, either through a buy or sell, a tax is charged to the user to support Elevate’s Auto-Stake system. This amount is accrued to a special wallet and designed to algorithmically support the rebase rewards.

The staking rewards are distributed every 30 minutes at a rate of 0.039%. They are backed by the Sustianability parameter, and thanks to that, ensure the stable APY.

The sustainability wallet is used by the smart contract to buy back and burn $Elevate tokens whenever the amount of supply located in the BNB/Elevate Pancakeswap liquidity pair exceeds 2.5% of the total supply.

When that threshold is reached, a portion of holdings in the sustainability wallet is used to immediately buy $Elevate tokens from the market and send them to the burn wallet, supporting the liquidity available in the Elevate system and backing the rebase rewards.
